5th Century Byzantine Skeleton found in an Early Christian Cathedral, Syria

A cathedral with a skeleton remains in it, dating back to the Byzantine era, was unearthed by the Syrian excavation team in Tal Al-Hasaka site, north eastern Syria.
The cathedral ,which dates back to the Early Christianity Era, is 18 meters long, and includes a four meter wide northern hall, a 6.5 meter wide middle hall and a three meter wide southern hall, Al-Hasaka Archeology Director Abdul-Maseeh Baghdo said in a press release last Saturday.
It also includes two column bases, and the floor is inlayed with reddish-yellow baked clay.

Will the discovery of the oldest parliament building suit the heads of the world’s parliaments?

The oldest discovered parliament building in human history will soon house the heads of the world’s parliaments.
Once the on-going restoration works of the building are completed, the head of Turkey’s parliament will host the gathering of the international parliamentarians, the Milliyet newspaper reported today.
The antique parliament building is located in the ancient town of Patara, near the modern town of Kaş in Turkey’s Antalya province. Dating to the second century BC, the structure has a capacity of 1,455 people.

Jesus Era Ritual Cup Found in Jerusalem’s Old City

U.S. archaeologists have found an extremely rare 2,000-year-old limestone cup inscribed with 10 lines of Aramaic or Hebrew script near the Zion Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Such ritual cups are common, especially in areas that were inhabited by priests, but usually they are unmarked or bear only a single line of text, such as a name, said archaeologist Shimon Gibson of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, who led the dig along with James Tabor of the same school.
